Kalai Aalayam Fine Arts Academy, Puducherry has its beginning as Olianjali Fine Arts Academy which was begun in January 2002, for the promotion of education in traditional Fine Arts and Indian culture.

The institution started with offering part time classes in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic Music for children from the age of 6 onwards. The practical classes were conducted with a well defined syllabus, which was adapted from the reputed premier the Olianjali Fine Arts Academy, which was transformed and a change of name was effected in 2010 when it became KALAI AALAYAM FINE ARTS ACADEMY. The Academy is founded by Mrs.Brigit and headed by Dr. Marie Stella, who is the Secretary and Principal of this institution. Mr. A.M. Saleem is the President of the Academy.

We offer Grade certificate, Diploma certificate, B.A, M.A, M.Phil, Ph.D. in Dance. We are affiliated with Annamalai University and. The classical courses are sent to grade examinations conducted by the Annamalai university, Chidambaram and Tanjore University, which has a duration of 8 years. The Part Time four years Diploma Examinations conducted by Kalai Kaviri college of Fine Arts, Trichirappalli.

Our Students enrolled in the Western Music are sent for Grade examinations conducted by the Trinity School of Music, London and Rock & Pop syllabus within a duration of 8 years. Nearly 1000 students have passed out successfully after the successful completion of these examinations. The Students enrolled in Carnatic Music are sent for Grade examinations conducted by the Annamalai University.

There are 1900 students who have completed their Salangai Poojai ceremony and 350 students who have completed their Arangetram in Bharatanatyam under the guidance and training of Dr. Marie Stella.

Many students have taken this as their profession and are working in Schools, Colleges and Universities. We not only teach the student to dance, sing or play instruments, but we teach to pay due respect to the Guru and all the Teachers. Many students have received numerous awards from various organizations depending on their fields of their expertise. Wherever we step in for competition.

We have staged more than 1000 programmes for the Tourism department, Art and Culture Department of the Government of Pondicherry, conferences, Workshops, Churches, Temples for Navarathri, Shivarathri, Kumbhabhishekams, Reputed Colleges, Social Organisation like the Cancer Trust, Rotary club, Lions Club, Business Network International (BNI), Television programmes for Podhigai and Puducherry Doordarshan, Satellite Channels – Vijay TV and local cable Channels etc.,
